Meet The Team

Sean Lawler
Owner / Creative Director
Meet Sean Lawler, the brains behind the creative reins at Artisan Autoworks. With a career path that has zigzagged from the runways of fashion to the gritty garage floors of an auto shop, Sean seamlessly stitches together style and steel. Having spent two decades working his creative magic in the fashion industry—collaborating with heavyweights like Adidas, Reebok, Lucky Brand, Polo Ralph Lauren, and John Varvatos, to name just a few—Sean ran a multi-national design agency that supported some of the biggest names in apparel. In a plot twist fit for Hollywood, he returned to his roots, rolled up his sleeves, and embraced his heritage of auto repair glory.
Sean’s passion now lies in combining modern performance with classic styling. You can find him in the shop doing everything from custom welding fabrication to nuanced stitchwork on upholstery. The artistry of creating something beautiful drives his creative spirit. But he’s no slouch with a wrench either—he has earned his ASE Master Technician Certification. Often referred to as “the Land Rover whisperer,” your car has never been in better hands, and your journey is about to get a whole lot more stylish.

Kevin Lawler
Owner / Parts Guru
The patriarch and seasoned sage of Southern New England's automotive realm. With four decades of problem-solving wisdom, Kevin is the driving force behind the automotive expertise that stretches from Hondas to Volvos. A true leader, Kevin's journey in the automotive industry reads like a “who’s who,” with every pit stop leaving an indelible mark. The stream of customers who have followed his 40-year tenure is a testament to his unwavering commitment to the automotive craft—and to the people who operate those vehicles.
As the former President of the Volvo Parts and Service Club, Kevin is not just a manager; his knowledge of automotive parts manufacturers and sources is legendary—an encyclopedic mind that could make even the most seasoned guru tip their hat in respect. In the world of European automotive repair, Kevin Lawler is often tapped as a resource for other shop owners seeking guidance. When faced with a puzzle that stumps the rest, Kevin is the one they call—the troubleshooter with a toolbox full of solutions and a cheeky grin to match.

Jeff Oliver
Shop Lead
"El Jefe" as affectionately dubbed in the shop, a 25-year automotive vet with a seasoned touch. Jeff has a knack for leaving a trail of excellence (and often grease) wherever he goes. From his humble beginnings at a muffler shop to his complex mechanical reassembly, Jeff's ability to lay a perfect weld or remove a stubborn bolt are the stuff of legend. The only thing that outshines his skillset is his work ethic. Rebuilding differentials and gearboxes? No problem, that's Jeff's weeknight hobby – When it comes to engine installations, Jeff has likely swapped more engines than most people have changed their socks. In the workshop, Jeff is the unsung hero. Often the end of the road when it comes to sorting out mechanical messes, Jeff is an integral piece of the Artisan team. With decades of experience with everything from GM trucks, to BMW and Mercedes, to Honda and Toyota. Jeff is the go to technician for keeping your vehicle running smoothly and reliably.

Tony Perez
Auto Technician
Tony is a tenured auto technician with just over 10 years under his belt. Joining the team in 2023, his willingness to dig in and jump on some of the bigger jobs at Artisan, often has him arm deep in transmission and engine replacements. He’s often quiet around the shop immersed in his work, but while he may not say much, he lets his tools do the talking. Tony is the first choice for brake and suspension work. Carrying out much of the maintenance work, he’s the technician responsible for making sure you make a single visit, without having to return. He’s detailed and thoughtful, and an expert at “shaking down” cars to find hidden clunks and vibrations.
Tony lives and breathes automotive. Often found in the shop on weekends, Tony is always tinkering. His photobook of engine swapped Civics he’s built and sold could occupy an entire showroom floor. His addition to the team has been a much needed set of hands and eyes, and we’re lucky to have him heading up the vehicle inspections and maintenance work.
